30

Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. I hope this isn’t one of those deeply intellectualu post’s, because I know I won’t get it…
    God Bless.

  2. I’ve got it. “30” is the old journalist code for “End of Story” (back when articles came across on ticker-tape). By posting “30”, Jimmy has announced the end his Blogging. A period of mourning will now commence….30.

  3. 30 day countdown ’till the big announcement of SECRET PROJECT #1!!!
    🙂
    Glory!

  4. I don’t think it really means anything at all. I think Jimmy has a bet going with someone to see how many comments he can get on a completely meaningless post…
    😀

  5. Did the computer that calculated the answer to life, the universe, and everything have a floating point error much like early Pentium chips?! 30! Not 42! Who knew?!

  6. What is “How many times Jimmy’s going to see Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith?”

  7. How many times Jimmy Akin has sinned (venial and mortal) in his life. We all know he is damn near perfect.
(pardon the expletive, it just seemed to fit)

  8. I see your 30…
    and raise you another 30.
Ah heck, yer bluffin’… I’m all in!
