I’m more surprised that it’s not by Sanrio. There’s a huge amount of Hello Kitty merchandise including back massagers. But even the official Japanese Self Defense Force i.e. army is subject to Kawaisa i.e. the cultural cute/pure/innocent aesthetic.
Eh, it’s probobly an appropriate color scheme for a plastic rifle.
