Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live." Very nice iPhone 4 you’ve got there Jimmy!
Well done video! Did any of the usual suspects put it together? (Darin? The new sound engineer — whazzis name Mike?)
Offer it up Jimmy, signing that many copies has got to be dreadful; I look forward to reading the book.
I wonder if there’s a short prayer you can say as you sign each book, or at least listen to something in the background.
Woot! I’ll be ordering mine today!
The book is bigger than I thought. I ordered mine a while back. Can’t wait for it to get here.
Wow! Thank YOU! Looking forward to my copy. Praying you are spared from any papercuts. Or carpal tunnel syndrome…
Do I detect a can of Diet Dr. Pepper there in the background??? HMMM??
Anthony: Thanks!
Eric: As I understand it, the video (which I think is awesome) is a joint coproduction of Erik Gustafson, Tim O’Brien, Jon Sorensen, and Celina Ortiz. (Oh, and the new engineer’s name is Matt.)
John: That’s what the iPhone is for! We were listening to my playlist that I use at square dances to keep the party atmosphere going during breaks (lots of classic songs of different genres; fun party music).
Misspeaches: Thanks! Actually, I’ve found that my hand cramps a little whenever I *start* a signing session but then it gets better as I get warmed up. Then it’s fine.
Steven: Yes. Also a Diet Hansen’s Black Cherry. The first has caffeine. The second doesn’t.
Good thing you have all that energy from low carb eating to sign all those books. 🙂 Very commendable!
