Pizza of the Future

Still working on part 2 of Age of the Universe. Unfortunately hit a setback when some autodownloaded Microsoft updates caused my computer to repeatedly slam into the Blue Screen of Death (thanks, Microsoft!).

It's being fixed now.

In any event, here's a video that proves (surprise, surprise) that the ACLU not only isn't 100% evil but also that it has a sense of humor.

They're still just about as evil as it gets, but they're getting the following issue right.

Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. You should get a Mac Jimmy! As I like to tell my non-Mac using friends, resistence is futile…

  2. You too, huh? Ever since Thursday my box has crashed 5 times. Vista, 64 bit. I’d love to know what the solution is for yours Jimmy… (my guess is a flubbed MS patch released Tuesday and installed Wednesday)

  3. Suzanne just found herself agreeing with the ACLU on another issue that they also presented with humor — a Facebook poll that reveals how Facebook polls bypass your privacy settings and let companies see nearly all your personal information, not only whenever YOU take a poll, but even if one of your FRIENDS takes a poll.
Would those be the two times a day the broken clock is right?

  4. Hi Jimmy,
I love your work! I just heard you on the radio talking about a new version of Mass Confusion. Any rough guess when that’ll be available? I was just (literally today) about to buy it when I heard the podcast. I’m trying to decide if I should buy it now or wait.

  5. Thanks for writing and for your kind words!
A reasonable estimate of when the new edition of Mass Confusion would come out
would be two years from now. (Yes, that’s really how long it commonly takes for a book to come out, believe it or not.)
If you don’t want to wait that long, I’d suggest ordering now.
    Hope this helps!

  6. I vaguely remember a case where the ACLU was actually on the right side of defending someone’s rights — like someone’s religious speech rights or something like that. It’s so rare that I’m sure it will be very difficult to find. I remember being shocked and wondering what their true motive must have been.

  7. Loved it! John E I vaguely remember something like that to not too long ago.
The Virginia Civil liberities union also did demand reverse steriliztions or financial recompense for those who had been forcefully sterilized after Buck vs. Bell.

  8. Thanks for responding, Jimmy. Yes, that certainly does help – I intended to have read that book yesterday, so I went ahead and ordered it. You have a way of ripping through answers in a way that is so clear and concise while tackling almost any objection and not making any unwarranted assumptions. This is evident on every one of you Q&A shows and also in your writings. The Salvation Controversy is just fantastic. I hope there’s nothing in Da Rulz about too much flattery 🙂
