We currently have an opening for the position of Seminar Coordinator.
GET THE STORY.
Author: Jimmy Akin
Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live." If I remember correctly about other openings in the past, one of the requirements was that you live in the area, or no relocating. What is different about this?
Too bad I don’t live there. That job would be right up my alley, so to speak.
One does need to be in San Diego for this position (as for virtually all positions at Catholic Answers), but one can relocate to the area, so we are open to out-of-town folks applying for the job as long as they can relocate.
Since the blog has a national audience, I would have mentioned it if we weren’t open to hiring out-of-towners.
Salary, benefits?
Realist. Yes, the job does have salary and benefits. I am sure.

Somehow I don’t think you’d get the job if you applied.

If ‘Realist’ did apply, he’d probably undermine the whole Catholic Answers organization by coordinating and sending JD Crossan disciples to all the seminars as well!
Too bad his real identity is unknown and, therefore, might probably get away with it — apply for the job and actually get it! =(
Realist wouldn’t last ten minutes in a job interview with Jimmy. And he knows it. 🙂
Wasn’t this same job posted last July? Did the person not work out? Did they not find an appropriate candidate?
I wish I was in a position to relocate. I’ve had experience coordinating events for M-B.
Jimmy,
Would the person that takes this position have the opportunity to go to graduate school in theology, church history or biblical languages?
I would be very interested in the position if I could work my way up to apologist. 🙂
Only if Mark Shea gets reassingned to CA’s Antarctica office.
Wish I was in a position to relocate too – I have event management experience – but California just isn’t going to happen right now. Please let us know if Catholic Answers wants to open a branch office in Detroit, or if a job comes up that permits telecommuting! 🙂
