Oh, and JA.org’s sci-fi fans will want to be sure to check out Klingon Word, a show that promises to have listeners "thinking about the Scriptures through the lens of the Klingon Language Version of the World English Bible."

SEARCH THE KLINGON SCRIPTURES.

(And, no, I’m not making that up. It’s amazing what people put on the Internet and that Google finds.)

"vaD joH’a’ vaj loved the qo’, vetlh ghaH nobta’ Daj wa’ je neH puqloD, vetlh ‘Iv HartaH Daq ghaH should ghobe’ chIlqu’, ‘ach ghaj eternal yIn."

Translation: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. Quote: “vaD joH’a’ vaj loved the qo’, vetlh ghaH nobta’ Daj wa’ je neH puqloD, vetlh ‘Iv HartaH Daq ghaH should ghobe’ chIlqu’, ‘ach ghaj eternal yIn.”
Apparently the Klingon language has no word for “love”, since the English word “love” appears here. I guess that sort of makes sense. It makes a bit less sense why the word “the” appears in the above quote though.

  2. This is a good site. I’m a really big fan of Father Roderick. He has started a similiar adventure with the Star Quest Podcast Network (http://www.sqpn.com). The quality is outstanding and he has a lot of cool ideas in the works.
