  1. Already? First-run movies usually take longer than that to go to DVD, don’t they?

  2. Sad to say this, but I really couldn’t care less about Revenge of the Sith. It was a huge letdown, though definitely much better than its predecessors, even if that isn’t saying much…

Prolly, Michelle! What I think would be fun is if George would allow access of all prequel footage to various directors & editors so they could re-cut his fimls & see what happens. That would be a hoot!

Probably concerns about pirate copies has closed the gap a bit between a movie showing at the theatre and being released on DVD. They don’t want impatient people who can’t wait to own it on DVD getting pirate copies.

The Phantom Menace with Jar-Jar edited out… a man can dream.

  6. Sorry, Revenge of the Sith only gave me an overwhelming urge to go and write my own version of Vader’s history. Just for me. I have no idea what shape it would take, but I feel strongly that my fourth grade daughter could come up with something less ham-fisted.
    Vader deserves better.

  7. Are my husband and I the only ones around here who *loved* ROTS? We left the theatre feeling dazed and wow-ed. I’d even almost tripped over my own shoes exiting the theatre. I disliked the two preceding prequels, but felt that ROTS made up for them in spades! We both cannot wait for the DVD.

  8. Maybe it was a mistake to go see it with my brother. All I know is, when Vader let out with that “N-O-O-O-O!!” toward the end, we both had to fight hard to supress a fit of giggling.
For a week after that, every time I spilled a soda or something, I would holler “N-O-O-O..!!!” in the best James Earl Jones voice I could muster.

  9. Annalucia,
The previous Star Wars movie, three years ago, came out on DVD in about the same amount of time – theatrical release in May, DVD in November. That summer’s biggest hit, Spider-Man, did the same. So quick theater-to-DVD transitions are not new.
