Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. A bird’s-eye view of hell, which turns out to be a combination of the rings of Dante’s Inferno and C. S. Lewis’s Lower Management.

  2. Photo of M. C. Escher’s little-known sculpture of the “narrow path” to the “narrow gate”. (Unfortunately, only the very slender can enter.)

    In Jesu et Maria,

  4. In some “worship spaces/places” it is easier to see and find the Labyrinth than it is the Blessed Sacrament.

  6. Notice at the entrance of Government funded fat detector:
” When you can squeeze through our fat detector, into the inner circle you will have passed from dark to light…and we will reward you with a lick of the chocolate swirl in which you find yourself…you will feel a smug satisfaction that YOU made it and YOU are allowed (in fact, encouraged) to look uncharitably upon those who DON’T get as far as you…anyone who cloggs up the system will be looked upon with shame, pitied and jeered at…as they leave, the popular football anthem “Who ate all the pies?” will be played LOUDLY…and THEY will feel despondant, unloved and quite possibly, suicidal….
    MEMO TO THE SYSTEM REJECTS:
rememember…the NHS is seriously underfunded….never take matters into your own hands… unless you plan on making a jolly good job of it because failed attempts just make nurses laugh at you even louder than we have and shriek “haven’t we enough to do without this silliness!’, as they shake their heads disdainfully ”
    God Bless.
