CHT to the reader who sent a link to the following Jack Chick parody . . .

READ THE COMIC.
Author: Jimmy Akin
Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

Thanks for reminding me to continue to pray for all those to whom I gave Jack Chick tracts!
This was done by Peter, one of the contributors at Catholicae Testudines, a blog run by students and alumni of the University of Maryland’s Catholic Student Center. Check it out at

Brilliant! But his name should have been “Jake” Cheek.

Actually, pray for Mr. Chick himself, who passed away in 1998 (assuming he even existed as a real person). What sweeter revenge than to have Our Blessed Mother retrieve him from Purgatory saying that the prayers of Catholic bloggers hastened the mercy of God?
Um, Jack Chick is actually still alive. I’ve also met him.
Mea culpa. Mrs. Chick passed away in 1998, not Mr. Chick. I need to clean my glasses more regularly. Of course, given the number of anti-Catholic tracts he’s produced it couldn’t hurt to start praying for him now…
Please let me know who has tracts of comperable value to Chick’s (but truthful)
I would be more than happy to pass out Catholic tracts, but no one seems to have any or if they do, they are defunct as a organization. CA Piller ones seem good, but too expensive and not as entertaining as Chick’s
Any suggestions??
