“Vatican Riches”

Oh, yeah?

GET THE STORY.

Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. $800 Million. That could really be put in perspective of the value of your run-of-the-mill (no pun intended) US company on the stock exchange.
    whimsy

  2. During recent weeks, our new(ish) parish priest has been attempting to bring parishoners to an awareness of our meagre giving…as an encouragement for us to give more… this weeks bulletin sheet reads ~
    “Last Weekend;
    Mass attendance 329 (for both Sat/ sun )
    Average giving £2.27 per person.”
    I’m an at home mum with a relatively low income, but I give more than that, so I don’t see why others who are far more affluent than I, can not see their way to doing so. Statistics like this that are so disheartening.
    God Bless.
