Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. None of the “listen too’s” have worked for quite some while. Only the download options.

  2. I just clicked “listen to” and it worked. Could you have your security software set in a way that blocks them?

  3. I find that sometimes I have to click twice before it will work.
By the way, I thought that second caller was acting a little bit strange. It sounded like he was trying to set you up to to get the answer he wanted to hear. He seemed to be trying to rationalize the use of contraception to himself as the lesser of two evils (the other being abortion). The exchange was a little bit awkward and he just wouldn’t get to the point.

  4. On the show I recall you briefly mentioning that you will be in Kentucky next month, presumably for a talk or seminar.
If this will be open to the public, what organization is hosting?
