Star Trek Ain't The Only Long-Running Franchise For Whom Cancellation Is Possible

How about 20/20, Primetime Live, and one of the 60 Minutes shows?

GET THE STORY.

Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. Quote from the article:

“Years ago people felt they were getting the raw, emotional stories (on newsmags), but now the audience that watches a lot of reality TV feels they are getting those stories,” one network insider says. “We know it’s scripted reality, or the manipulation of reality, but the audience feels sated.”

Newsmags are competing with reality shows for “scripted reality.” Nice to see someone ‘fess up about that.
