So here’s what I had for my NewYear’s dinner (a.k.a. "lunch"), all courtesy of my neighborhood Vons supermarket:
* Hormel brand smoked pork chop (0 net carbs)
* Vons brand blackeyed peas (13 net carbs)
* Glory Foods brand seasoned southern style collard greens (4 net carbs)
* Talk o’Texas brand pickled okra (0.25 net carbs per pod)
* Old South brand sweet pickled watermelon rind (8.5 net carbs per square)
A grand total of 26.5 carbs, which is high for a single meal for me, but hey, it’s New Years.

Oh you poor thing. That looks so sad 🙁
*snicker*
At my place we had filet mignon, steamed carrots and green peas, corn, baked red potatos and rolls.
I was ready to explode after dinner ehehe
I don’t know about the food, but gee wiz your stove top is clean.
Angelica,
Actually, I was impressed by how *much* I got to eat, since the diet doesn’t involve measuring calories. Felt thoroughly satisfied!
The way this diet works, you don’t feel hungry even though you eat much less food.
Must confess, though, that about an hour after dinner (lunch) I got a little hungry (probably due to having eaten more carbohydrates than usual) and so I ate an extra 100-calorie, 0-carb pork chop, like the one in the picture, above.
Would have no trouble eating low-carb equivalents of the items you mention, except for carrots and corn. There are no low-carb versions of them, as far as I know, though I can eat them in small amounts (like sweet pickled watermelon rind or black-eyed peas).
The trick is, you don’t eat the high-carb foods that will make you hungrier, so you end up eating less. Low carb versions of various foods (e.g., potatoes) are just great. You just can’t go hog wild on them.
Jimmy, did you eat New Year’s dinner on a paper plate? Come on now. Celebrate the new year by buying yourself some real flatware! Tee hee!
I’ve *got* real plates, but I’m in bachelor mode at the moment.
When I find a wife and start a family, I’ll bring out the plates. ‘Kay?
(Actually, I do put a regular plate under my paper plate to make it firm.)
