The Huygens probe has returned the first photos from the surface of Saturn’s largest moon (and the solar system’s largest moon), Titan.
KEWL!
GET THE STORY!
The Daily Planet reports: Saturn Girl of the 30th century Legion of Super Heroes, and a native of Titan, told reporters: "It may look like just a lot of rocks right now, but in the 30th century it will be the home of one of the most technologically-advanced, telepathic societies in the galaxy. Watch us grow!"

According to an article in The Detroit Free Press, Titan is the second largest moon in our solar syste. Ganymede (a moon of Jupiter) beats Titan in relative diameter 3278 to 3000 miles

This may be why the rival newspaper, The Detroit News, called Titan “a small moon” in an editorial today:

That’s no moon… it’s a space station!!! Hoo-rah for Europe on this one, even though the images were from cameras made by NASA, heh, heh… If you are into deep space images I highly recommend the Hubble Heritage site. I get chills.
Tim, you are thinking of Mimas. Right system, wrong moon.
We landed on Mare Asphaltum (literally) so of course we don’t see the civilization. 😉
The French report that where the Christiaan Huygens landed “has the consistency of creme brule.” That is burnt custard to the rest of humanity.
Titan is still bigger than the planet Mercury.
The reason we used to think it was bigger than Ganymede is that the *tangible* atmosphere is over 700 miles deep, as opposed to 60 for Earth.
Just in time. In contravention to the Eurofascists, there is an opensource release of the lander images:

There are also two ion storms headed for Earth. Stormy skies predicted:
