I have received two nasty notes saying my bill was not paid.
It was sent the same week I received my 1st bill.
I was about to send another cheque, but decided to verify my account. THE FIRST CHEQUE WAS CASHED!!!!
Please reply.
I too am rather TICKED OFF at Columbia house. Thanks to the number you guys provided, I was able to scream at them until they refunded all the money they owed me. Maybe a lawsuit from a disgruntled customer or two will teach them not to keep their phone number a secret.
As a member of Columbia House DVD Club, you earn ‘FunCash’ for every purchase. But to use it and to place a ‘FunCash’ order, you would have to purchase DVDs at regular club price (usually $19.95 and above) AND pay their Shipping & Processing on top of that!!
You supposedly accumulate ‘Fun Cash’ to get FREE and Discounted DVDs, but you’re using all of your hard-earned ‘Fun Cash’ to make a FULL-PRICED purchase. This is the equivalent of accumulating all of those airline miles from your credit card purchases only to face blackout dates and restrictions.
As a Preferred Member, I pay $.99 Shipping & Processing per DVD, so why should I be subjected to the regular $2.99 Shipping & Processing fee and above when it comes to ‘FunCash’ orders?! HOW ASININE IS THAT??!!
And how much ‘fun’ is that??!
I was just checking my account on Columbia House’s website and I had sent a check to them with the amount I owed them but now they are saying that I owe them $3.00 more than the amount the check was for..
first of all, the number you listed no longer works. We have had so much trouble with CH. We signed up for a deal where you get 6 DVD’s for 49 cents and you have to buy 1 at 19.99 in a year. They said we were on the 4 for 49 and 2 for 9.95 and 3 more for $23 deal!!! It took about 4 hours to get them to send a copy of our agreement which turned out to be the 6 for 49 deal, then another hour to convince some lady that we really were on that deal after they had sent it to us. We ordered out last movie, paid in full over the phone, and cancelled our account right then. Now we have a bill for 6 dollars in late fees and 2 something for the movies!! Can’t find a number that lets you talk to anyone!! What a scam!
You know, I’m really getting to not trust the internet. I’ve been scammed a few times before, and just when you think you can tell the real thing from a scam, you get suckered into another one. Columbia house is definitely a scam. I’m trying to pay my bill, but lost the copy of the bill. Yeah, I know I’m human. I look on the website, no number. They won’t send me another bill so that I can get my account number, and when I enter my username and password, it says it’s not valid. I use the same username and password for everything! They want it to be difficult to get ahold of them, for a reason. If you cant get in touch with them then your bill doesn’t get paid on time. Which means late fees and basically more money for them.
I will cancel my membership when I can, and won’t ever get a “membership” with anything else with any company over the net ever again. Thanks Columbia house for a bunch of BS. disgruntled man
