There’s been some discussion in the comments box about a problem in the comments boxes.
Apparently, something in the html is causing certain fields (Name, E-mail, Web page) not to appear if you view the site through Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
I’ve contacted TypePad and they are working on the problem.
In the meantime, thought I’d note that you *can* still use the comments boxes in I.E. You just won’t be able to fill in the missing boxes. I’d suggest (so that we know who’s talking) that you sign your comments so we’ll know who they’re from. (It makes it difficult to respond to someone if you don’t know who to refer to in a comments thread.)
Also, do keep the comments coming. Getting to read people’s feedback (even when it takes issue with me) is one of the key rewards for me for the effort and money I put into producing the blog.
Thanks!
Incidentally, you could also switch to another (safer!) browser, such as Mozilla or Firefox or Opera and get around the problem.
The more people switch away from I.E., the better off we’ll all be. 🙂
I’ll never go back to internet explorer.
Okay, I don’t mean that, cuz once Microsoft gets moving, it’ll probably make something good and really I just want to use whatever makes computing easiest. But Mozilla’s Firefox definitely is way better than the current version of Internet Explorer.
I’ve used Opera for years and love it, mostly. The biggest gripe I have with it is that it tends to freeze for a bit when a plugin (such as Quicktime) is loading, and occasionally it freezes completely and I have to ctrl-alt-delete and kill the task. I’ve recently started using Firefox as well, and it seems to handle plugins a little better.
I am still keeping Opera as my primary browser, though. Firefox’s e-mail/RSS counterpart, Thunderbird, didn’t impress me.
Jimmy what Browzer do you use?
SteveL.
Hmmm . . .
It was not until I viewed the website of someone who seems disinclined to use IE that my IE ever had any trouble at all.
Hmm . . .
Can you say, sabotage?
🙂
I haven’t tried Opera yet, but I do LOVE Firefox. The email client Thunderbird is very good.
I’m using Safari and Mail on my iBook and they work great…although everyone’s been raving about FireFox even on Mac…so I think I’ll check it out one of these days.
Hey Jimmy, Safari never seems to remember my personal info even when I click the little check box. Not sure what the problem is (yes, I think my cookie settings are okay because it works on other sites).
