Tux Night

Okay, a little photoblogging today.

First, here’s a picture of me in a tux–for anyone who might be curious what that would look like. (I may have a full-length tux picture later.)

This one was taken at one of the formal nights on the recent Catholic Answers cruise. A couple of times per cruise they force everybody to get dressed to the nines, and this year (for once) I had a tux that actually fit!

Sitting next to me in this picture is Rose Sweet, a Catholic speaker and author who was one of the folks seated at my table that night. Check out her site.

Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. Stephen G: Or at least a pleasant dinner companion.
    Ggoose: Much obliged!
–: I rent one from a company online and it magically shows up in my berth on the ship. With my weight dropping as much per year as it has the last few years, it would be foolish for me to buy one just yet. Another year or two, though, and it would make sense to buy.

  2. Wow, Jimmy, I haven’t seen you since I left Catholic Answers 4 yrs ago (I worked with Phil L) and although always a handsome guy, you look amazing! The best to you! (ps – your blog is always a pleasure. 🙂
