As a reader pointed out down yonder, there is a second offensive toy that has been produced and bundled with candy in Florida. This toy appears to depict Usama bin Laden standing between the WTC towers. (And, it looks to me, as if he is preparing to knock them over.)
As before, the candy company explained that it bought the toys sight unseen and did not realize what it was sending out. It has now recalled the toys.
The importer previously defended the first 9/11 toy discovered. No word on whether it also defends this one.

Does the toy DO anything (Osama stand up after a button is pressed or quote the Koran????) or is it a little souvenir of the attack?
Not only is it evil, but it seems to me to be a pretty stupid toy. No wonder Muslim kids are so angry. I would be too if my toys sucked so much.
Maybe George Lucas could bring about world peace by giving the Islamic kids a good Arabic version of the Star Wars Action Figures. Maybe LEGO could win the nobel peace prize.
I wonder where it’s from and where the market is for this filth.
I’m guessing probably Pakistan or something. I remember some news broadcast showing Osama Bin Laden action figures in a Pakistani market shortly after 9-11.
Pretty Twisted.
Looks like Osama bin Kong.
The Lisy Corp. folks are either one hard-luck corporation or the biggest incompetents this side of the Keystone Kops. Not long ago they had to recall candy that involved a choking hazard; there was a press release at the FDA site to that effect.
As for the current subject under discussion: the candy comes from Mexico; were the toys made there too? Wouldn’t surprise me overmuch. It was Mexican soccer fans who chanted “Osama! Osama!” during a Mexico-USA match not long ago.
