CNN: Modest Returns To Fashion

This is terrific. Seems young people are getting sick of the immodest fashions their parents have been irresponsibly allowing them to buy for the last few years, and sick in such numbers that the manufacturers are starting to take notice.

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. Jimmy,

I wasn’t able to connect to the link, butdo you have any idea why protestants are more inclined toward modesty in dress than contemporary catholics?

  2. Wow! Before you know it, mantillas will be the coolest thing selling at the Gap.

  3. Oh, and I think that Protestant kids are often more active in supporting modesty (to the extent that they may be) because they hear modesty preached in their churches more than we do in ours.
