Archbishop of Canterbury on The Simpsons?

A new report indicates that Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury and the highest churchman in the Anglican communion, has been invited to appear on animated TV show The Simpsons.

This is less surprising than one might think since the Anglican communion’s recent history resembles episodes of The Simpsons. (Sorry. Couldn’t resist. But I suspect many Anglicans would say the same thing.)

In other Simpsons news, plans are in the works for a Simpsons movie.

Also, the fourth season of The Simpsons is finally out on DVD.

  1. I find the comparison of the Simpsons with
the Anglicans insulting. The Simpsons is
far more original and clever that that
    silly Anglican religion.

  2. You mention season 4 of the Simpsons out on DVD. I am really jazzed today because I found out today that vol 1 of Invader Zim is out and vol 2 will be released in August.
    Doom, doom, doom.

  3. This kind of makes more sense in light of today’s article on http://www.worldnetdaily.com.
The article entitled “New Bible translation
promotes fornication” reads how the Archbishop of Canterbury praises a new bible translation “Good As New”.
Briefly, here’s an example of the translation:
    Matthew 26:69-70
Authorized version: “Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, ‘Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.’ But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.”
New: “Meanwhile Rocky was still sitting in the courtyard. A woman came up to him and said: ‘Haven’t I seen you with Jesus, the hero from Galilee?” Rocky shook his head and said: ‘I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about!'”
    one more…
    1 Corinthians 7:8-7
KJV: “I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.”
New: “If you know you have strong needs, get yourself a partner. Better than being frustrated.”
All I can say is Dooooooooooh!

  4. The Archbishop of Canterbury has put the lives of many Christians living in Muslim lands in grave danger because of his apostasy, heresy, stupidity, spinelessness, and pan-sexuality.
He has also greatly advanced the culture of death and homosexuality in the West.
I think we as Catholics haven’t been judgmental enough in telling our Anglican separated brethren just how far off the deep end they have gone. Really, I think a little ridicule is called for here 🙂
John Paul II is far too polite to say so within earshot of the media.

  5. Of course, why would a reasonable Catholic or Protestant consider such worthies as Rowan William, John Spong or V. Gene Robinson his “elder brother” anyway?
