Mmmmmmmmm…..that Ostrich Ragout sounds yummy.
They ate pretty well didn’t they! I’d have been glad to have dined with them…but not the ostrich..I couldn’t have eaten that…I particularly liked the look of the recipes for Roast Tuna and also the Nut Tart. Interesting.

I’m not sure where they keep the wild boar in the meat department of my supermarket.
Ostrich is actually quite good. It tastes like beef but not quite as much flavor as say a New York cut.
All washed down with copious quantities of rough red wine – out of pewter goblets, where the wine disolved the lead in the pewter and eventually sent some of the Romans mad.

Ah, *authentic* Italian cuisine! 🙂 Yum. You’ll probably never see it prepared on the Food Network, though.
