I’m no techno-geek but I did a bit of Internet fishing to try to find the Vatican’s podcast service. If you are a techno-geek and if you want to start listening to Vatican podcasts, I think you need to go to the site of Vatican Radio.
Here is a like to the English version that you can subscribe to
http://www.radiovaticana.org/rss/inglese.xml
It still looks like its in the working stage. Looking at the HTML it just looks like a bunch of web clips.
However, you can get the English features of Vatican Radios of at One O Five Live http://www.radiovaticana.org/inglese/105/en_information.html
and the RSS podcast feed is at http://feeds.feedburner.com/vaticanradio105live
That is the full 30 minute features program. However, if you are like me as much as you like the features, you’d like also the full 20 minute Vatican News program contact Vatican Radio contact Sean Lovett of Vatican Radio at seanpatricklovett@yahoo.com .
For a reference point on Catholic podcasts there is a good site at http://www.apostle.com/catholic_podcasts.htm . For example on the web page you can find out that EWTN is podcasting at http://www.ewtn.com/podcast/ .
I’m not much of a gadget junkie.
I still haven’t figured out how to program my toaster.
Sounds cool, though!
One O Five Live may be subscribed to easily if you have the free iTunes software. Just go to the Podcasts section and look under Religion/Spirituality. Another good one is Fr. Roderick’s CatholicInsider. I’m still looking forward to getting Catholic Answers Live via podcast!
