1913 was also the year that saw Death Valley’s <i>coldest</i> temperature. On January 8 the temperature dropped to 15°F (-10°C) at Furnace Creek (the same spot as the highest temperature). <a href=”http://www.nps.gov/deva/naturescience/weather-and-climate.htm”>National Parks Service</a>
On April 22, 2012, Death Valley recorded the hottest April temperature in North America: 113 °F (45 °C) beating the previous record by over 2°F. (from Jimmy’s Wikipedia link).
