The Wikipedia link you gave re the closing of the pagan temples had a reference to the Codex Theodosianus:

This caught my attention because of the question about the origin of priestly celibacy.
The link 77 was to another Wikipedia entry but the link didn’t seem to contain a reference to this exemption. Codex Theodosianus 16.2.11
