You might think that a commitment to home and hearth and the comforts of spirituality might make the one-time Material Girl (aka Madonna, aka Esther) more retiring about her personal life. Au contraire, but now it seems that home, hearth, and spirituality are just part of the pop-idol schtick.

Gotta love Hollywood. When becoming spiritual, you can’t simply be a gnostic, you have to be a scientologist. You can’t simply convert to Judaism, it has to be Kabbala. Even those who become Muslim, e.g. Yusef Islam (Cat Stevens) go in for the Sufism brand. In fact, I believe most of the atheists are “secular humanists.” Even Mel Gibson somewhat fits the bill.
For her sake, I really wish she would not use the name “Madonna”.
I also wish she would realize that between good and Nazi-evil, there are still many many dark shades of evil.
