We’re any of the Gospel writers one of the 12 apostles? If not, how many of them were eyewitnesses to Jesus’ life?
Thanks
Sue
Susan: It is commonly held that both Matthew’s Gospel and John’s Gospel were written by apostles and/or eyewitnesses of Christ’s ministry.
Mark’s Gospel is commonly held to be based on St. Peter’s preaching, with St. Peter being an apostle and eyewitness.
Luke’s Gospel is based on interviews with eyewitnesses and authorized ministers of the word, as he indicates in his prologue to the Gospel.
Hi Jimmy,
What is going on with the Synod’s decree? It is very disturbing. On the face of it, the Church is condoning and accepting morality.
Peace of Christ
