Prayers Requested

A very dear friend, a very holy priest who is in his 90s, has taken a severe fall and is not expected to live.

Please pray for him, for his family, and for all who are in similar situations.

Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. I’m on my way to Mass and will remember your friend in prayer this morning. Blessings.

  2. Prayers being said Jimmy. The same thing happened with my father 3 years ago, and I have asked his intercession as well. In my Dad’s case, he also had non-Alzheimer’s dementia, which meant that, in many respects, we lost my Dad many years earlier. Obviously I’m still grieving his passing, but that makes me so much more charitable to your friend.
May G-d’s Peace be with your friend and all who know and love him.

  3. Prayers for your friend. My 86 year old father, who has severe diabetic neuropathy, fell last week & broke his hip. On his 86th birthday he was in SICU, recovering. He still cannot walk. I understand what this man’s family is going through. So sad.
