  1. Did you know that before the Battle of Stirling Bridge, two Dominicans were sent from Stirling to negotiate with Wallace? Their convent no longer exists but it stood outside Friars Gate. We still have a Friars Street leading from the site of the gate.
     
    Also, the Dominican’s convent was made os stone and so not destroyed by Wallace’s burning of Stirling after his deafeat at Falkirk. This provided a place for Edward 1’s recuperation after being wounded at Falkirk.
     
    The film is good in parts, apart from the blue paint, the kilts, the accents and the climactic battle. Which doesn’t show Stirling, or the River Forth, or the Bridge which was tactically critical.
