Author: Jimmy Akin

Jimmy was born in Texas, grew up nominally Protestant, but at age 20 experienced a profound conversion to Christ. Planning on becoming a Protestant seminary professor, he started an intensive study of the Bible. But the more he immersed himself in Scripture the more he found to support the Catholic faith, and in 1992 he entered the Catholic Church. His conversion story, "A Triumph and a Tragedy," is published in Surprised by Truth. Besides being an author, Jimmy is the Senior Apologist at Catholic Answers, a contributing editor to Catholic Answers Magazine, and a weekly guest on "Catholic Answers Live."

  1. This is real and not one the humorous fake signs you can generate at various websites (unless Google is on the conspiracy!).
    Enter the location
    32.781204,-117.010714
into maps.google.com It takes you very close to the junction of Center Drive / Grossmont Center Drive, La Mesa, CA 91942, USA. Drag the little Streetview person to Center Dr, just to the south of Grossmont Center Dr, make sure the green arrow is pointing NW to see the bank. Right-click and zoom in to see the sign.
Then wonder whether I should be doing better things with my life.

  2. Jimmy,
I wish you would address why modern scholars state Matthew did not write his Gospel, and leave this stuff to the ‘talking heads’.

Give Jimmy a break, Michael. “Live life to the fullest, but stay in the state of Grace.” -St. John Bosco.
This is too funny, Jimmy! Here is a funny headline seen in a newspaper: TYPHOON RIPS THROUGH CEMETERY;HUNDREDS DEAD
    Did I read that right?
